Coleman’s hopes still holding on

The hope of Norm Coleman to retain his Minnesota US Senate seat is still alive for now. There will be a hearing, despite Al Franken’s request to make Coleman go away and leave him alone after successfully stealing the election with the help of Acorn Secretary of State Mark Ritchie.

While it might take some car lifts to ever find all the lies and deceptions in this Franken shoplighting caper, the truth is this: following the state’s so-called “fair and accurate” recount, we now have 25 Minnesota counties that have recounted vote totals that exceed the actual number of people who signed in to vote on election night.

And we’re to believe this was a “fair and accurate” recount?

Only by ACORN standards.

Pelosi: Abortion will save the economy!

Line up the moving services now: Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is ready for the move to the loony bin. On ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos, Pelosi was heard uttering this inanity: that increased federal funding of abortion will save the US economy!

Judge for yourselves her sanity:

Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children’s health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those – one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government.

Sorry, Madam Speaker, but bringing a child into the world always generates more activity than ending its life in the womb.

Paterson picks pro-gun Dem for Hillary’s seat

New York Governor David Paterson must’ve pulled a name from a hat and had it read to him. After wisely bypassing Caroline Kennedy, Paterson acted with little more wisdom (from a Democratic party perspective) by choosing Rep. Kirsten Gillebrand for the New York U.S. Senate seat vacated by incoming Secretary of State Hillary Rodham.

One thing Paterson overlooked is that Gillebrand is perhaps just about the only pro-gun Democrat in the state of New York; she is possessed of a 100-percent voting record with the NRA. Why is this woman a Democrat, again?

What Gillebrand lacks in digital signage of the sort that would have come with appointing Caroline in the city, she’ll more than make up for by bringing some common sense to her party caucus in the Senate.

Sure, they’ll eat her for lunch and spit her out in two years; but by that time, maybe she’ll be ready to run for the same seat as an incumbent turncoat Republican.

And in one of his first official acts…

In one of his first official acts, newly-minted President Barack Obama decided to spend his political capital on… telling Republicans to stop listening to Rush Limbaugh? Hmm, and here I thought the ultra-serious Obama wanted to be taken seriously. Instead, it seems he’s looking to broaden his skills to include stand-up comedy in the White House.

Of course, Bill Clinton spent much of his career obsessing over Limbaugh as well, but that’s hardly an example to follow for Obama, is it? What’s next for our new president: hawking weight loss pills from the Oval Office?

Review: Kenmar Watches

field_and_stream_31988My watch battery is dying.

The last few times this has happened to me, I’ve simply gone to Wal-Mart, browed the Timex selection, and chosen something for about $25. In fact, I’ve bought and re-bought the same watch twice in the last five years that way.

This time, I’m thinking of doing something new: buying my next watch online, from Kenmar Watches’ Web site. They have over 150 brands and 700 styles to choose from, which is something my local Wal-Mart just cannot complete with.

The brands available include things as exotic to me as Fossil watches, as well as things as familiar as the Field and Stream watch I’ve included in this post. And it’s the discount that impresses me the most.

Take that Field and Stream number I’ve included for example. Normal price is $95. The Kenmar Watches price is under $34. That’s a whole lot better than the local Wal-Mart.

Also, I just like their Web site for its ease of navigation. If I don’t care about brand so much, I can sort the selections down by price, style, even by color. That makes it easy to sort through the vast array of choices and zero in on the watch that best suits you.

While I like that Field and Stream number, I’m also strongly attracted to an Eos New York Emory with a purple clockface for only $60… less than half the full retail price. While shopping online for watches may not work for everyone, Kenmar Watches is certainly trying to change that.

Franken declared Minnesota’s first fake Senator

In a case of election fraud so obvious it would make Algore wonder where he went wrong in Florida eight years ago, ACORN Secretary of State Mark Ritchie and his canvassing board declared Saturday Night Live comic and failed liberal talk-radio host and all-around blowhard Al Franken “the winner” of the U.S. Senate seat in Minnesota previously held by Norm Coleman.

Despite a series of one-sided decisions by Minnesota courts to deny all of Coleman’s claims and grant all of Franken’s wishes, the closest election in recent Minnesota memory saw voter fraud so wide-spread in heavily Democratic precincts that many reported recount totals far higher than the number of total ballots cast on election night.

The effort was successful in claiming a vote total turnaround that, on election eve, favored Coleman by over 700 votes, to a post-recount total that favors Franken by 225 votes.

Of course, Franken, Ritchie and company shut off the faucets as soon as Franken was comfortably ahead, even though there are still plenty of uncounted absentee votes that may or may not favor Coleman and turn the tide again.

Can’t have that, can we? After all, as far as the mainstream Minnesota media is concern, they “right” person finally succeeded; now all those fine words about counting every vote are about as worthless as Franken’s election certification.
