Coleman’s hopes still holding on
The hope of Norm Coleman to retain his Minnesota US Senate seat is still alive for now. There will be a hearing, despite Al Franken’s request to make Coleman go away and leave him alone after successfully stealing the election with the help of Acorn Secretary of State Mark Ritchie.
While it might take some car lifts to ever find all the lies and deceptions in this Franken shoplighting caper, the truth is this: following the state’s so-called “fair and accurate” recount, we now have 25 Minnesota counties that have recounted vote totals that exceed the actual number of people who signed in to vote on election night.
And we’re to believe this was a “fair and accurate” recount?
Only by ACORN standards.
Pelosi: Abortion will save the economy!
Line up the moving services now: Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is ready for the move to the loony bin. On ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos, Pelosi was heard uttering this inanity: that increased federal funding of abortion will save the US economy!
Judge for yourselves her sanity:
Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children’s health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those – one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government.
Sorry, Madam Speaker, but bringing a child into the world always generates more activity than ending its life in the womb.
Paterson picks pro-gun Dem for Hillary’s seat
New York Governor David Paterson must’ve pulled a name from a hat and had it read to him. After wisely bypassing Caroline Kennedy, Paterson acted with little more wisdom (from a Democratic party perspective) by choosing Rep. Kirsten Gillebrand for the New York U.S. Senate seat vacated by incoming Secretary of State Hillary Rodham.
One thing Paterson overlooked is that Gillebrand is perhaps just about the only pro-gun Democrat in the state of New York; she is possessed of a 100-percent voting record with the NRA. Why is this woman a Democrat, again?
What Gillebrand lacks in digital signage of the sort that would have come with appointing Caroline in the city, she’ll more than make up for by bringing some common sense to her party caucus in the Senate.
Sure, they’ll eat her for lunch and spit her out in two years; but by that time, maybe she’ll be ready to run for the same seat as an incumbent turncoat Republican.
