Burping toward infamy

Sometimes I think it would be better to just round up all the liberals into one big pay-per-view event, presented by Vince McMahon, and let the libs fight it out amongst themselves. What brought on this Swiftian proposal? Goodness, it’s so ridiculous I feat it’s actually an article by The Onion and not a genuine news organization. If only. At least then, it’d be funny, not the basis of wacky Democratic policy wonk writings.

Seems the Norwegian moose has been found by animal researched to be a very gaseous fellow. Between the belching and other passings of gas, some Algorian idiot has now decided that the Norwegian moose is now a bigger threat to “global warming” than, well, cars!

What the–?

Even when meeting them on their own logical turf, they don’t achieve any sort of logic! Check out the story for yourself here.

According to the German Web site, Spiegel, “a grown moose can produce 2,100 kilos of methane a year — equivalent to the CO2 output resulting from a 13,000 kilometer car journey … Norway has some 120,000 moose but an estimated 35,000 are expected to be killed in this year’s moose hunting season, which starts on September 25.”

So, let me get this straight. If your an Algorian enviro-whacko, you must be pro-hunting, then, right? Someone tell PETA, lock ‘em both up and settle this dispute Thunderdome-style.

“Two libs enter! One lib leaves!”

I’d pull up some bar stools for me and a few friends for THAT one…

Global warming generating plenty of "hot air"

Committed anti-capitalist lefties are worked up in such a lather over global warming, they’re starting to sound even wackier than the fuhrer of the environmentalist movement, Al Gore. If they keep ratcheting up the increasingly-unfounded claims, it could become a challenge to determine this summer which will be the bigger challenge: to buy World Series tickets or to buy tickets to the end of the world.

Geoffrey Lean, environmental editor of Britain’s lefty rag, The Independent, claims global warming has suddenly accelerated to “three times faster than the worst predictions.” As a Chicken Little campaign speech, it makes for fascinating reading from a panicked mind. But it’s not science.

The real whopper here is that Lean makes claims of such new “evidence” based on studies that have been conducted, allegedly, for over 30 years now. Get real: 30 years of date don’t change the information they record with the political winds and whims of politicians and other wackos. Of course, how such data is interpreted certainly does.

It’s all very subjective, you see. Pure scientific date records what it records. But interpreting it is less detached. If one scientist goes in wanting to prove global warming, they can find what they need to prove it … usually by isolating only the data that supports their hypothesis and ignoring inconvenient contradictions. Same goes for those who wish to disprove it.

What is much more clear is history. The earth, during the stretch of human history on it, has been much colder than it is now; it has also been much warmer than it is now. All long before the industrial revolution, the invention of the steam engine or the birth and public utterances of Al Gore (himself a considerable source of global hot air, if not quite global warming.)

The Earth’s been there, done that, and it’s still here. ‘Nuff said.

Gore training environmental socialist militia

The former Vice President, Al Gore (D-Tenn.), an Oscar winner for his socialist environmental hype film, is training a private environmental militia, according to recent online reports. A group of 50 of an eventual 1,000 foaming-at-the-mouth volunteers are currently in training at Gore’s Tennessee farm and will soon be unleashed on America.

Their mission? To keep cramming the environmental lies contained in his film, An Inconvenient Truth, down America’s throat by having these volunteers travel the country, doing Gore’s PowerPoint presentation in his absence.

The Gore propaganda is predicted to spread faster without his personal involvement, yet it’s not like Gore’s information is as tested, tried and true as an education film on prescription drug addiction.

In fact, a growing number of scientists, including many of those listed on the alleged group of “2,500 of the world’s top scientists” the Gore spoke so glowingly of, are producing an increasing amount of contrary evidence with each passing weak.

The central theme to Gore’s socialist propaganda is that human-produced CO2 is destroying the environment by creating an effect called “global warming,” despite the fact that as recently as 1975, the same extremists were promoting the theory of “global cooling.”

Yet what Gore never acknowledges in his “Convenient Lie” propaganda is that human activity accounts for less than one tenth of one percent of all atmospheric CO2. The biggest source? The world’s oceans, via natural evaporation.

I could drone on endlessly about the lies and deceptions in Gore’s propaganda, but it’s easier and more believable if you research it yourselves: Check out the excellent BBC documentary, The Great Global Warming Swindle. That’ll set you straight!

Global warming trek to North Pole called off due to extreme cold

Explorers Ann Bancroft and Liv Arnesen called off their trip to the North Pole to highlight global warming this past weekend. The reason? Extreme cold that led to frostbite! According to this article, organizer Ann Atwood said, “They were experiencing temperatures that weren’t expected with global warming.”

Of course, rather than acknowledge that crisis-level warming is a flawed theory, Atwood wrote off the cold to the “unpredictability factor” that “comes with warming.” Sure, that… or maybe they’re just dead wrong.

Well, not dead wrong literally, thank goodness. Despite some frostbite, the two explorers made it out without major casualties or losses. But are they swayed by their experience with the North Pole’s genuine cold? Not at all. They plan to try again another time. Maybe next time they should limit themselves to a Ford Explorer, complete with a van rack.

Ellen Goodman goes too far

From Al Gore’s claims that scientists are being “paid by the Bush administration” to deny a human cause to global warming, to the all-too typical charge that any scientist who comes up with contrary evidence is being “paid off by the oil industry,” science has never been more politicized than it has been lately.

However, Boston Globe columnist Ellen Goodman stepped way over the “decency and good taste” line this week when she compared global warming skeptics to Holocaust deniers.

I realize that in the ivory tower, free-wheeling world of liberal media elites, no parallel is off limits as long as it serves to further the liberal agenda. But this comparison is a step too far.

Abe Foxman of the Anti-Defamation League should look into this and issue a scolding, at least, if not demand an outright apology. Here’s the direct quote:

“Let’s just say that global warming deniers are now on a par with Holocaust deniers, though one denies the past and the other denies the present and future.” – Ellen Goodman

That’s hate-speech if ever I’ve read it, and completely insensitive to Holocaust survivors. And yet there are those, like Goodman, who say that the hate speech is coming from global warming skeptics? I think Ellen Goodman should give up writing and sell kids furniture or something, if this is the level to which her demonization of folks who don’t see things her way has sunk.

More climatologists climb on ‘anti-global warming’ bandwagon

Well, it’s about time some folks started speaking up and admitting the man who invented the Internet is full of crap. A growing number of meteorologists and climatologists are speaking out against the myth of global warming as bunk science promoted purely for grant-money gravy train reasons.

The latest is an ABC weatherman from Alabama named James Spann. Spann blows the lid off the grant money-driven shell game that is global warming mythology, exposing it for the pork-barrel project it is, rather than the hard science it claims to be. If global warming research is fat in the government budget, consider Spann the fat burner.

Spann writes, “Billions of dollars of grant money is flowing into the pockets of those on the man-made global warming bandwagon. No man-made global warming, the money dries up. This is big money, make no mistake about it. Always follow the money trail and it tells a story.”

He continues, “Nothing wrong with making money at all, but when money becomes the motivation for a scientific conclusion, then we have a problem. For many, global warming is a big cash grab. The climate of this planet has been changing since God put the planet here. It will always change, and the warming in the last 10 years is not much difference than the warming we saw in the 1930s and other decades. And, lets not forget we are at the end of the ice age in which ice covered most of North America and Northern Europe. If you don’t like to listen to me, find another meteorologist with no tie to grant money for research on the subject. I would not listen to anyone that is a politician, a journalist, or someone in science who is generating revenue from this issue.”

Of course, this kind of talk never makes it to the airwaves, I suspect. Why? Let’s turn to Spann again!

Spann writes, “Some “climate expert” on “The Weather Channel” wants to take away AMS certification from those of us who believe the recent “global warming” is a natural process. So much for “tolerance”, huh? … I have nothing against “The Weather Channel”, but they have crossed the line into a political and cultural region where I simply won’t go.”

Of course, I’ve felt the same way and said the same thing for years. Heck, when I was a kid, our Scholastic Weekly Reader was gloomily predicting a new Ice Age on the way … not the movie, either! Now it’s global warming. But don’t believe me … I’m just a wonderful pessimist. There are plenty of folks like Spann out there who know the truth, even if they are threatened to be drummed out of the broadcast industry if they don’t tow the proper political line…

Bush considering new "global warming" policy?

The rumor mill is rife with the possibility – denied by White House press secretary Tony Snow – that President Bush may be set to reverse course and lay out a completely new “compassionate conservative” agenda for global warming. If this is the case, it’s probably because after January 2009, W. will be hanging up his address plaque somewhere other than 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC.

Global warming is one of the biggest science scams to hit popular culture since Al Gore floated the idea that he personally invented the Internet. Strangely enough, the former Vice President is behind a lot of the global warming myth as well.

Even by the most conservative estimates, Earth is 6,000 years old and most scientists believe it’s millions and millions and millions of years old. Weather patterns that take hundreds, if not thousands, of years to go through are not only possible, but likely. In fact, a recent Harvard study – the most comprehensive of its kind – indicates this is the case and even supports the idea that we’re coming out of a period of global cooling, as well as the idea that as recently as the 1600s or so, global temps were far above what they are now and the world didn’t exactly end.

But don’t let facts stand in the way of panic merchants and scientists striving to protect their federally-funded research. Far be it from anyone to admit that there’s not a crisis, when only crisis-fueled research pulls in the grant money that employs all these panic-pushers… and Al Gore, who any day now should be announcing that he’s the one who created the Earth in seven days, not that glory-hound, God.

Stay the course, W! Global warming is a myth, even if the honest scientists to have the proof are repeatedly muzzled by the vested-interest global warming researchers who want to keep their jobs and their federal grant money flowing in unabated.
